ImprovingAccess.Org is a networked initiative. We invite scholars and practitioners from all over the world to get involved, become part of our network and contribute to the website. If you are working on real life innovations, writing about access-related topics, organizing events or teaching about the topic, please let us know who you are and what you do. Democracy as a form of government has spread and consolidated worldwide at a steady pace over the last decades. It has gradually been replacing authoritarian regimes that cannot be popularly held accountable for its actions towards its citizens.

Once we have identified the – sometimes deeply hidden or seemingly invisible – problems of democratic governance and understood the mechanisms behind these problems we can start looking for solutions.

Improving Access means ensuring that the dimensions of democracy mentioned above in the ‘rationale’ are realized. It means identifying the problems of modern democratic governance.
