Albert Jan Kruiter is working as independent researcher and trainer on democratic governance and policy implementation issues. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration. Albert Jan published extensively on democracy in the network society, which was also the subject of his Ph.D. thesis. He was senior researcher and consultant at the Centre for Government Studies (CGS) at Leiden University, The Netherlands. Before joining the CGS he worked for the Netherlands School of Public Administration, where he developed several executive education programs. The last years he has been consulting a variety of public sector organizations including ministries, NGOs and local governments on innovation, evaluation and governance based issues. From 2010 Albert Jan continues his work in Hungary, after having spent two years in India.
